Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A woman working with the NGO 'Azad Foundation' reported a case of molestation while traveling on a bus in Kolkata. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM on Monday as she was on her way to Phool Bagan.
When the bus reached Ruby Crossing, a man, later identified as Sourav Shil of Mukundapur, Kolkata, allegedly touched her inappropriately.
Following the complaint, Kasba Police Station registered a case under Case No. 359 dated 10.09.24, invoking sections 74/351(2)(3) of the BNS Act. Sourav Shil was arrested shortly after the incident.
The prompt action by the police has brought some relief, and the case is currently under investigation.
